National Poetry Day
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
W. Terry Fox (Cheshire Poet Laureate 2008 and 2009) on National Poetry Day, 7th October 2010, will be giving a reading at Nantwich Library.
The theme of NPD this year is Home and he will be reading from Village Verse, his collection of Mow Cop Poems. The event starts at 2pm, admission is free and all are most welcome.
As well as doing solo poetry gigs he plays with a trio, StringFing: Terrys' voice and guitar with Adam Fenns mandolin wizardry and Emily Tellwrights soulful cello playing.
StringFing music is described as Folk Beat a glorious fusion of English folksong, poetry, blues, traditional Celtic music, classical music and good old rock n roll.
They have a residency just over the border at the New Inn, Derby Street, Hanley, Stoke on Trent, on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Our next evening there will be 21st October. Admission is free and, again, all are most welcome.
It would be brilliant if you came along too.
