Byron Johnston

Byron Johnston
Byron Johnston is gaining increasing acclaim for his unique brand of flamenco fusion and highly original artistic approach to guitar performance.

He is rapidly becoming a rising star of the acoustic guitar in the UK music scene following the release of his debut album 'Oceano' which fuses elements of contemporary, world and flamenco guitar music and has been released on itunes.

Byron started playing guitar when he was eight, his passion and love of music seeps from every pore. Having studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music, he has had the benefit of being taught and influenced by some of the world's leading acoustic guitarists of our time.

Byron performed as a soloist at the Royal Albert Hall in the summer of 2006, which coincided with the release of his debut album 'Oceano'. The accompanying live DVD gives a visual illustration of Byron's unique playing style and shows just how he forms a direct connection with the hearts and minds of the audience.

A superb technician and a charismatic presence, Byron's individual style and affable nature makes him a wonderful addition to concerts.

Extensive performances have found Byron playing all over the UK in the past two years, highlights for 06' and 07 include, The Royal Albert Hall, The Clapham Grande, The Brighton Festival, Guilfest, The Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank Centre) for The London Guitar Festival, The Guildford International Music Festival, The Windsor Arts Centre and Live on BBC Radio and Channel Four Radio.
